Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear: Urban Operations

Graphics & Sound:
The graphics in Urban Ops are good. Real good. I don't know that they are necessarily improved over Rogue Spear, but then again, Rogue Spear was pretty good. Urban Ops does provide several new (urban) environments in which to infiltrate.

Gameplay:
One interesting feature of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear: Urban Operations is the Lone Wolf mode. This is an almost unplayable mode that pits you (and JUST you) against the various terrorists. This is the way a lot of gamers first try to play Rogue Spear anyways, and in my opinion, not only helps to eloquently demonstrate why 'teamwork' is so important in this type of game, but helps to illustrate how ludicrously 'unreal' most of the first (or third) person shooters are. Lone Wolf mode is basically a 'Survival Mode'... see how long you last before you get capped. As for the normal modes of play, all of the edge-of-your-seat thrills of Rogue Spear are here... with cool new missions. The missions make sense, and the environments are realistic. If you loved Rogue Spear you'll enjoy the Urban Operations expansion pack. I sure did!

Difficulty:
In the normal modes of play, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear: Urban Operations merely adds new missions. Some of these missions do pit you against steep odds, but quick reflexes and a watchful eye can save your neck. (HINT - watch for 'alternative plans' that may present themselves during a mission. Plans are made from intelligence received BEFORE a mission. Events can present better plans while the mission is underway - if you happen to notice them.) Of course, there's the Lone Wolf mode which allows you to attempt to play a mission as a solo mission. No, you don't have any additional abilities or better armor. It's just you against ALL of them. If you're lucky, you'll be a nuisance to them. (Yes, Lone Wolf is THAT difficult.) But, if you think you're REALLY good, give it a try. Better yet, put you're favorite Quake or Unreal frag-monkey friends on it and have fun laughing at them.

Game Mechanics:
Since Urban Operations is an add-on to Rogue Spear, I guess the question is, 'What is gained' and 'Is it worth it?' Well, as far as game enhancements, there is a new mode - Lone Wolf mode. This, however, is more of a novelty which shows how ridiculous the whole 'Rambo' concept is (one soldier taking out an entire army). However, the missions that are included are exciting, well designed, and feature well designed environments. Altogether, Urban Operations is a great enhancement for Rogue Spear. If you have been longing for some fresh action and a new Rogue Spear fix, then Urban Operations is just what your dealer ordered.
