Some people are afraid of the dark; others are afraid of black cats and walking under ladders. However, a staggering 17 to 21 million people in the United States, alone, are reportedly afraid of Friday the 13th. This fear has an official name - it's called
friggatriskaidekaphobia after "Friggia", the Norse goddess for whom "Friday" is named and "triskaidekaphobia" meaning an irrational fear of the number thirteen. Some people are so paralyzed by fear that they avoid their normal routines in doing business, taking flights or even getting out of bed.
The Cutting Edge Haunted House, in Fort Worth, Texas, is taking full advantage of this Friday's being the 13th of July, and has selected this date as the date to open their doors this year. Further, they are "double-dog daring" you to confront your friggatriskaidekaphobia and come to their special Friday the 13th opening.
