LEGO minifigures have been a major part of the
LEGO culture since they were first made back in the late 1970's. In fact, there is an interesting subculture in the
LEGO maniac fan base that focuses primarily on minifigure collecting. So, it's no wonder that, not long after the shutdown of
LEGO Universe, a short lived MMO based on the
LEGO toys, that the toy company has decided to try a different approach with their next venture into the massively multiplayer online market.
Funcom recently announced that they have signed a deal with the LEGO Group to take their expertise and experience developed by such titles as Age of Conan and Anarchy Online to breathe life into the iconic toys.
