Ys SEVEN Goes Gold

Company: XSEED Games
Product: Ys SEVEN

Fans who have been waiting for a new Ys title don't have much longer to wait; that is, as long as they have a Sony PSP. XSEED has recently announced that Ys SEVEN has gone gold. The newest installment in the long-running role-playing series will be on store shelves on August 17th at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $29.99.

We've gone through the finer points of the standard and Limited Collector's Edition releases of Ys SEVEN, but here's a refresher to any who may have missed the update. The Limited Collector's Edition will come packaged with a soundtrack CD, a 60-page art book, and a 12.5" x 34" cloth map of the world of the Ys series. It will MSRP for $49.99. If you're interested in purchasing Ys SEVEN and own a PSP Go (or don't want to deal with UMDs), the game will be available for purchase on the PlayStation Network.

Ys SEVEN promises to take handheld gamers on a long epic adventure. It will include nine playable characters, each of them with their own distinct fighting styles, special abilities, and weapons. Developer Falcom is aiming for an accessible experience through the implementation of four difficulty levels. The projected game length is approximately thirty hours.
