"Tree's a Crowd" has the gang stumbling on a herd of treecko, one of the pokemon that Ash saw when first coming to the region. Of course, his early attempts to catch one in this episode don't really go all that well, but he soon gets sidetracked when he starts to follow a specific one (who seems to be a bit of a loner and tends to like to put twigs in its mouth). It seems this particular treecko is protecting a tree that he grew up in, but unfortunately, the tree is pretty sickly. When Team Rocket attacks the herd, Ash and the others have to team up with the little green guys to save the forest. Of course, Rocket is quickly dispatched with the help of that one particular treecko tricking Jame's Cacnea to shoot needles at the Team Rocket balloon. Treecko (the one that Ash has been following) decides to challenge Ash because he wants to go with him, but Ash must prove himself a good trainer, and after a quick battle, Ash gets his second pokemon from the Hoenn Region.
After that, in "A Tail with a Twist," Ash introduces Treecko to his other pokemon, but we see that the grass-type pokemon is still just as much a loner as before. A serviper attacks the party, but the fight is quickly broken up and Ash and the gang rush Treecko to the nearest Pokemon Center. After seeing the battle, Jessie is impressed and decides to catch Serviper and make it her newest pokemon. Before the end, Jessie will capture the snake-pokemon, but when she uses it against the twerps, the kids still prevail (of course, we wouldn't expect anything different).
The last episode, "What You Seed is What You Get," has the gang heading to Fallabor Town, but Ash decides it's time to do a little training. After seeing how well the Bullet Seed move does, he believes teaching Treecko the attack will help a lot. With the use of spitting watermelon seeds to help improve the green pokemon's aim, they make steady but slow progress. But a grovyle (the next evolution stage for Treecko) appears and attacks the group (after being hit by a rogue watermelon seed, of course). It turns out Grovyle is owned by a local girl, but it isn't long before Team Rocket shows up to steal the watermelons (no, not the pokemon like normal). After a bit of a struggle, Treecko finally figures out how to use Bullet Seed and send Team Rocket "blasting off again."
Like the rest of the Pokemon All Stars collection boxes, Treecko puts together three pretty iconic episodes that focus on this particular pokemon. If you really like this tree-climbing character, then check out Pokemon All Stars 12.
