The two have a glorious evening of wining and dining, along with a sordid tryst in the woods. But on the way back to her place, they have a rough encounter with a group of local hunters. This encounter leaves Adam a cyclops and horribly scarred, but it also leaves Alice raped and emotionally scarred.
As you would expect, the rest of the movie is Alice and Adam searching for their attackers and churning out justice. During the events of this film, not only will you learn the twisted motives that led to the attackers' encounter with the couple, but you see Alice and Adam touch the dark side.
This movie is rough, I am pretty sure it qualifies as the most tense and unnerving film I have ever seen. When I told someone this, they reminded me about Monster and a certain scene with a wrench. While that movie suggested certain acts (albiet strongly), this one all but showed a similar scene with a rifle. This is a rough movie.
Closure is definitly not a film for everyone. I found myself completly unnerved by the end of it and when the credits rolled, I couldn't help but think the movie lacked closure (ironically enough).
