To start off the season, Dog goads Cat into letting them join Clown School in an episode titled "Send in the CatDog." It is apparently Dog's lifelong dream to become a clown. At the school, their instructor is named Sgt. Silly Bells, however he is anything but silly! I love the humor in this particular episode. Another one of my favorites occurs when Shriek decides that she is going to make Dog hers in "The Lady is a Shriek." After a misunderstanding as to what Dog likes in a woman, Shriek decides to try and make herself look like a super model. Funny enough, Lube and Cliff (and almost everyone else in town) had no clue she was a girl until she put on a dress. You think that the homage is going to be to My Fair Lady, but Shriek isn't that patient. Instead, she gives Randolph 30 minutes to turn her into a "lady" and his methods are drastic! After going through the "Beautifier 9000," the results are amazing. But will they last? Love tends to provide comedy quite often in CatDog. In the episode titled "You're Fired," Cat falls in love with an actress, Tallulah. She claims that she is looking for a soulmate and Cat is determined that he and Dog together are her perfect mate. Things don't always go as planned though, especially not when CatDog are involved!
As is typical, Cat will do anything to try and get rich. This season, he will enter a battle of the bands to win the $1000 prize and even sell a local legend, Fred the Flying Fish, to an oddities show. You'd think that he would have learned by now that easy money definitely has consequences, but some things never change. Of course, Dog puts them in several bad positions as well. We all know by now that Dog has a bad addiction to garbage. Thanks to this addiction, CatDog along with Sunshine and Mervis are stranded at sea in a garbage dumpster. Cat makes himself captain, complete with a pegleg. Given his personality, you can guess what kind of captain he acts like. Bones are another thing that we know Dog is addicted to and if there's one place that you should never take a dog, it is a museum full of giant dinosaur bones! Dog is really going to get them in trouble when he see the most perfectly aged bones that he has ever laid his eyes on. Some of the other adventures this pair get into include becoming a superhero, joining a "Cats only" cult, getting sawed in half, babysitting, and more.
CatDog is still one of the stranger concepts that I have seen on TV, but it does have a point. These two have to learn to work together even better than normal siblings and their personalities are totally opposite. If they can learn to get along and live together, then pretty much anyone can! CatDog: Season 2 - Part 1 continues the adventures of the pair in the same vein as the first season. If you enjoyed those, you should pick up CatDog: Season 2 - Part 1 today.
