The bad news just doesn't stop for Jack. His mother is found dead the next morning and he and Ana go to his hometown for the funeral. On the evening of his mom's funeral, another woman, Ellie, is found dead upstream in his parent's hometown. Ellie was a high school girlfriend of Jack's. After yet another ex of Jack's is found dead, the FBI enters the picture. Agent Vuckovitch (Christian Slater) is investigating the case since it crosses state lines; the bodies have been discovered all across the US. Vuckovitch is a real ass, there's just no other way to describe him!
Jenny is still on the case. Even though Jack is supposed to be staying out of it, he just can't. Any woman that he has ever slept with is in danger now, and that includes his partner, Jenny, even if he and Jenny are the only two that know that fact. Jack has to make a list of every woman that he's slept with for the FBI, which is a very long list, about 100 women. The thing that Jack can't figure out is how in the world this killer knows who he's slept with and where it happened, not to mention what he did to upset the killer so much! As the secrets in Jack's past start to come out, things get more twisted and it really looks bad for Jack. Can he manage to save any of the women from his past or even his present?
The only special features are commentary and a "Making Of." The Making Of is only about 10 minutes long, but it's quite interesting to hear how the movie came to be written and made. I really enjoyed The River Murders. The story is unique with a great plotline. Even though you know that John (Michael Rodrick) is the killer from the very beginning, you have no clue why or how, which is the whole point of the movie. Granted, I figured out the plot twist and who the killer really was, but only minutes before it was revealed, so it was perfect. The acting was amazing throughout the whole movie, but then you would expect that with such big named actors. All the lesser knowns were wonderful as well though! If you're looking for an exciting thriller that will keep you guessing until the end, I highly recommend that you check out The River Murders today!
