Click stars Adam Sandler as workaholic Michael Newman, who wants the best for his family, but just can’t seem to cram everything he needs to do into a 24 hour day. His wife and kids need his attention and time, meanwhile his demanding boss Ammer played by David Hasselhoff, is continually piling work on him, all with the promise of a promotion. One night, in a fit of frustration at not being able to put his hands on the correct remote, he takes off into the evening in search of a universal remote to simplify his insane existence. When he ventures into the “beyond” section of Bed, Bath and Beyond, he happens upon Morty (Christopher Walken), who offers something truly unique. A universal remote that will actually control his universe. Michael can hardly turn down this opportunity, and gladly takes the gadget home, only to be amazed at what it does. It mutes the barking dog, fast forwards an annoying argument with his wife, and so on. He races back to Morty for an explanation and Morty tells him it’s a learning remote.

Well, soon Michael is fast forwarding through all the boring stuff in life, spending most of his time on “autopilot”, much to the chagrin of wife Donna (Kate Beckinsale), his kids and his parents, (Julie Kavner and Henry Winkler). Although there are many hilarious moments due to the remote, soon Michael realizes that the remote has taken on a life all its own and is not only fast forwarding through the mundane aspects of life, but also the important ones. He realizes that through it all, family truly is the most important thing. Is it too late, though? You’ll have to see for yourself.

This Special Edition is chock full of goodies like deleted scenes, commentaries, and featurettes on the “fat suit” Adam had to wear, how they came up with the sets that take place in the future, design ideas and special effects.

I can say this – I have honestly never cried in an Adam Sandler movie before… until Click. I cried when I saw it in the theater and I cried when I saw it again reviewing this DVD. And I don’t cry at movies, people. It’s truly a heartwarming and heartwrenching movie and one that every person should see. It makes you appreciate what you have and see the true value in the time you have with family and friends. The acting is superb, the story is terrific and the laughs are plentiful. Plus, it teaches a good lesson. And yes, there are even plenty of “dog humping a stuffed animal” scenes, so what’s not to love? Run out and pick this up now.
