High Noon is one of the four new movies in the Nora Roberts collection. It debuted back in April on Lifetime television.

In High Noon, Lieutenant Phoebe McNamara (Emilie de Ravin, Lost) leads a very busy life. She is a hostage negotiator, sent in on the most difficult cases. She has to talk jumpers off the roof, talk down gunmen holding up places, and many more very dangerous situations. At home, she has an adorable daughter named Carly (Savanna Carlson) to take care of. Granted, her mother, Essie (Cybill Shepherd), lives with them, but she can't always help with Carly as she is severely agoraphobic (can't leave the house, even to step on the porch). With all this going on, she doesn't really have time to worry about men or a relationship.

When Phoebe meets Duncan Swift (Ivan Sergei), she simply shrugs off all his advances. She just doesn't have time to deal with men in her life right now. Given that her ex-husband left her and never bothers to see his daughter either, she just doesn't trust men. But eventually, Duncan's persistence pays off and Phoebe agrees to go out with him. Personally, I think she's insane for not agreeing the first time as Duncan is simply perfect. He sends flowers, he cares about what she wants, and he even loves spending time with her daughter

Unfortunately for Phoebe, everything in her life isn't as wonderful as Duncan is. She has trouble with an officer at work, Arnie Meeks (Patrick Sabongui). Meeks obviously has issues with a woman in power. He argues with her every chance he can get, even though he is her subordinate. Eventually things get much worse. Phoebe starts receiving horrible things like a ripped up stuffed animal and a dead snake at her front door. Even worse, someone is trying to sabotage her career. Phoebe's going to have to figure out who is after her and why, and then manage to stop him before anyone in her life is safe again.

I think that High Noon is my favorite of the collection. I really liked Midnight Bayou too though, so it's a toss-up really. Emilie de Ravin did a wonderful job in the role of Phoebe. My only concern is that she looks so young to be playing a mother and a lieutenant. But she carried the part very well. When I originally saw that she was the lead, I was afraid that I was just going to see Claire from Lost in the role and that wouldn't have worked. Emilie proves that she isn't just a one type role actress! The rest of the cast did a very good job too. The daughter especially was adorable. Usually children are just annoying and bit parts in a movie like this, but that wasn't the case this time.

Just like Midnight Bayou, High Noon is a really good drama/mystery with a bit of romance thrown in. If you like mysteries (or romance), I highly recommend you go get High Noon today!
