As a general rule, I'm usually not impressed with the SciFi Channel movies. Yeti is no exception to that rule. There is just nothing exceptional or unique about the movie, but I'll tell you about it all anyway.

Yeti starts off in the Himalayas in 1972 with a group of hikers being devoured by a very cheesy looking abominable snowman. Then we flash-forward to present day where a supposed college football team is on a plane flight to Japan. Now if you ask me, that's the weirdest looking football team I've ever seen. There wasn't a single one that could possibly have been a linebacker, not to mention there aren't nearly enough people on the plane to make up the whole team. Maybe half the team, the big guys, took a different plane. Or maybe it was a team full of kickers. Well, whatever the case may be, they aren't going to make it, which you probably already knew if you read the back of the case. Due to a storm, the plane crashes somewhere in the Himalayas. If you guessed that it crashed right where the yeti lives, you would be correct.

At this point, there are several problems with the movie. The first thing I noticed wrong is that there is at least one survivor standing in the snow at the top of the Himalayas with a short sleeved shirt on, and he doesn't freeze to death in a matter of minutes. Anyone who's been in that kind of cold knows that the first thing you'd do is cover every part of your body to avoid frostbite. They don't even keep their hoods up to keep the ears covered or their hands in their pockets to keep them warm. So anyway, at this point the survivors, which include the team mascot and a trainer, a few players, and some random others, try to organize and figure out how to stay warm until they are rescued. Little do they know that the yeti is after them. The rest of the movie is simply them trying to survive the cold, survive the yeti, and get rescued.

The main problem with the movie, other than the complete lack of realism, is that everything was very predictable. You could guess exactly who is going to die, when they are going to die, and how they are going to die. Just when you finally think it is over, it just keeps on going. There aren't any special features on the disc to muddle through, just some previews.

I cannot in good conscience recommend watching this movie to anyone, even if you catch it on TV. It's just that bad.
