This is not the best President in the world... this is just a tribute...Yes, Comedy Central presents Comedy Central Salutes George W. Bush, but it seems to be a one-finger salute. Each comedian, in their own way, seems to take their middle finger and poke at President Bush - some harder than others - in this reverent, irreverent look back at the "W" presidency.
The jokes seem to be fairly well-focused on their target, President George W. Bush, as he is lambasted and caricatured in every way possible: in episodes of South Park, as Lil' Bush, in an episode from the first season (the better one), even in live-action on Mind of Mencia and in a couple of episodes of the short-lasting political sitcom, "That's My Bush." Like I said, most of the content is on the President, himself. The furthest they seem to stray in this compilation is the included episode of "The Root of all Evil," which is Dick Cheney vs. Paris Hilton.
The comedian who seems to hold a special place for Bush in his bowels would be Lewis Black, who plays the part of the judge in Root of All Evil, but is also in a cartoon short about "Dubya," as well as in the Last Laugh shows.
If you're anti-Bush, or you're just looking for a comical look back at the previous presidency as we prepare for the next one, Comedy Central Salutes George W. Bush does a pretty good job of summing up Comedy Central's fun-poking over the last term... perhaps just the thing for an election day party. If you're very pro-Bush, however, you may want to pass this one by.
